EasyDrive provides instant feedback to drivers

Long life, heavy duty quality and money saving.
That is the basis of our work lighting.
All these terms are connected: thanks to the focus on quality (heavy duty), the lighting has a long service life and a high ROI.

The work lights are extensively tested at our Finnish supplier.
They do this by exposing the work lights to extreme temperatures or severe shocks.
Only when the work light meets the high quality requirements is a work light good enough.
The result?
You no longer need to replace your work lights.
After a one-time installation, you have no more to worry about or maintain.
And there’s more than just longevity.

Benefits of good vision.

Productivity increases significantly as a result of good visibility.
For example, are you working at relatively high speeds?
Then an atomizer helps keep work speed high.
Or a WideFlood pattern for vehicles at lower speed.
For example, for a crane or excavator.

Thanks to the bright color temperature offered by our lighting, you have white light.
With this, you reduce the chance of making mistakes, reduce eye strain and become less dependent.
You work just as hard in the rain or in the dark.
There are many choices when it comes to lighting.
Below you can see in three steps which lighting suits your situation.

Energy-efficient work light | long life | bright white light

The three major advantages of LED lights on work lights are energy savings, long life and bright white light.
Nevertheless, these work lights are not fitted as standard on vehicles.
This is because the purchase price is higher than that of a Halogen variant, for example.
This is why manufacturers often choose halogen bulbs.
But a halogen bulb is ultimately more expensive.
Let me explain that.
First of all, a halogen bulb has to be replaced many times more often.
From 10 to 35 times as often.
An LED version only needs to be fixed once.
In addition, you can work more productively.
Our work lights have a color temperature of about 5500 Kelvin.
Bright and white.
And that keeps you focused unlike Halogen variants.
With a temperature of about 2500 Kelvin, these lights have a yellow appearance and that is not pleasant.
So you see everything less clearly and on top of that, your brain associates yellow light with dim sunlight.
Substances are produced in your brain that indicate that the sun is about to set: time to sleep.

HID work lights

Our work lighting pays for itself and it keeps you sharp (instead of sleepy).
That’s why we recommend that compared to Halogen, the choice is quickly made.
But there is another option: HID.
Better known as Xenon.
Lighting resulting from a chemical reaction.
HID is a great alternative thanks to lower energy consumption and relatively high light output.
Know that HID lighting has a significantly higher purchase price compared to LED.
In addition, it is less powerful.
A work light often ends up on vehicles, in which case that ruggedness is very important.
Good lighting can withstand a bump, can withstand high temperatures and on top of that can withstand shocks.

Mounting a work light on a vehicle.

A quality work lamp can take a beating.
Pleasant.
Especially if you mount the lamp on a vehicle that operates in rough conditions.
Good lighting is important in many industries, and things can get rough in those industries.
Take agriculture, for example.
Working long nights to bring in the harvest.
It’s nice to have good lighting but also that the work lamp does not break down in the middle of the meadow.
At Nordic Lights all work lamps are extensively tested and a long life is therefore guaranteed.
Even if you work in a rough environment, with high temperatures or with a lot of moisture.
All work lamps are equipped with a Deutsch Connector that prevents sand and moisture from entering the lamp.
And with an aluminum housing that makes the lamp robust and cool.
Thanks to this cooling, the service life is significantly improved.

Good work lights = less cost.

Save with quality lighting.
You can.
We’ll calculate it for you.
Suppose you have a vehicle, for example a tractor.
You use it 250 days a year and the vehicle is used for an average of 2 hours a day.
Standard you have halogen lamps and they do not last the lifetime of the example.
In fact, in the example, you work with the tractor for eight years before it depreciates.
And if you don’t have standard but premium lights?
Then you quickly save €500.
The €335 work light (LED) is fitted once and after that you have no more costs.
The Halogen bulb costs €142 and the bulbs are replaced eight times for €15 per bulb.
Replacing takes time and time is money.
We charge eight hours for eight replacements and €75 per hour.
That already puts you at €600!
Total cost for Halogen?
€862 versus €335.
Just with the direct costs you already earn over five hundred euros in eight years.

Meet our supplier.

We are exclusive dealer of Nordic Lights work lamps.
This Finnish manufacturer has a large location in Jakobstad where all lights are made.
Quality is key.
All work lights are made of quality materials.
Nordic Lights work lights therefore come with a five-year warranty.
And they do not disturb.
Some lights interfere with the radio.
Thanks to the EMC mark you can be sure that this is not the case with our range.
We are not the only ones who like to use Nordic Lights.
Caterpillar, Volvo and Liebherr also choose the Finnish brand.

Indirect costs of workplace lighting.

In fact, these are many times higher in practice than the direct costs.
Do you check every time that your lights are working during the day?
Many people don’t.
Then one day when you have to work in the dark to sow all the seeds in time you find out that your Halogen bulb needs replacing.
Annoying.
Good lighting often only becomes important when it is needed immediately and sometimes you are unfortunately too late.
And the indirect costs can add up very quickly.
Not being able to harvest or sow on time, waiting one working day for the new Halogen bulbs or sending contractors home again because it is not safe to work in the dark without lighting.
Just a handful of examples.

Meet our supplier.

On top of that, you make more mistakes with poor lighting.
Because of the fatigue caused by yellow light, but also directly because of reduced visibility.
The illustration on the right shows well how much you miss when you do not have premium lighting on your vehicle.
This is partly why many manufacturers still supply Halogen as standard.
Only when you see the difference do you notice what you have missed.
For this reason, we work a lot with demonstrations.
Then we come on location to see the benefits of good work lights.

Picking the best work lamp.

A lamp.
It doesn’t seem that difficult and it isn’t.
However, there is more to it than meets the eye.
For this reason, we would like to list a few things so you know you are buying the right work light.
The light pattern is, next to the type of lamp, the most important.
Are you working on an excavator?
Then a lamp that shines sixty feet ahead makes little sense.
You’ll want a WideFlood pattern; lots of all-round visibility.
Do you work on a shovel where you have to move a lot at full speed?
In that case, good visibility to the front is important and you need an auxiliary light.
Many lamps are available in several variants.
For example, the Scorpius Go 420 is suitable for medium-sized vehicles and in available in three light patterns.
Close and all around as WideFlood variant, medium and forward as Flood variant or far sight.
With a High Beam light pattern.

The technical aspect of work lighting.

In short, there are also technical aspects to look at:

  • What electronics were used?

It can be high and low quality and is of great importance for longevity.

  • Overheating protection

See if the housing has cooling fins that protect the lamp from high temperatures.

  • Power connection/connection

It must be both water- and dust-proof.
An IP69K certification is not a luxury.

With these points combined with the right light pattern, you know you have good work lights.

The importance of vehicle safety.

For over twenty-five years we have focused on one theme: vehicle safety.
With quality work lights but also with other solutions.

Good visibility and being seen
Lighting allows you to see well.
But do you also want to be seen well?
Then maybe a strobe light is for you.
Or a detection system for the construction site.
Using tags that everyone gets when entering the construction site.
The same type of tags are on all vehicles and so they can actively alert.
For example, if a pedestrian walks into your blind spot.
Or a system for in public spaces.
Does the system detect a vehicle or pedestrian?
Then you get a visual and audible warning.

Work lights and cameras.

A set of work lights ensures that you have good visibility around your vehicle.
However, there is another area that is illuminated but you don’t see.
Your blind spot.

Always and everywhere visibility with cameras
A good camera gives you visibility where you normally see nothing.
And that goes beyond visibility.
There are systems with an active warning, for example.
The SmartVue Doblicam that meets DVS London requirements, for example.
A system which gives an active warning (audio & visual) if there is a dangerous situation.
For example, if your blinker is on to the right and there is a cyclist cycling in your blind spot.
Around view, around your forklift or truck, is also among the options.
Meet the OmniVue 360 where eight cameras give you visibility everywhere.

A safety solution for every situation.

Meet the requirements of ECE R65 and be highly visible with flashing lights.
Or make sure you’re audible with a reversing alarm.
Did you know that a reversing alarm doesn’t always have to be annoying?
That annoying beep can cause a nuisance.
Especially if, for example, you work in road construction and are therefore always on the road at night.
With a SMART reversing alarm you are always audible but you do not cause any nuisance.
This is because this system adapts to the environment.
It measures the number of decibels around the vehicle and the reverse signal is automatically five decibels higher.
So you are clearly audible but nobody bothers you.
How pleasant.

Work safely with a blue spot work light.

This can be done, for example, with a blue spot light.
This shines in front of the vehicle, such as a forklift, and ensures that people know you are coming.
Sometimes you work in a warehouse with full shelves.
Then you can’t see if a pedestrian is coming around the corner.
With a blue spot light, the pedestrian can see you.

Work lights on your vehicle?

Some work lights are better suited to a vehicle than others.
For example, we have a lighting kit specifically for tractors.
This set includes lamps that you can replace one-to-one with your current Halogen lamps.

What makes a lamp fit one vehicle better than another?
As we mentioned earlier, the light pattern is important.
Shock resistance or size also make one lamp more suitable than another.
A vehicle that operates almost always in the dark needs a higher number of lumens than a vehicle that occasionally drives in the dark.

What are lumens?

Need a lot of light?
Then you want a lot of lumens.
That is the unit in which luminous intensity is measured, and there is an important distinction to be made in this.

Operational and theoretical light output
Four LED lights each have a strength of 1500 lumens.
The theoretical light output is then 4 times 1500 lumens.
The operational light output may be lower than the 6000 lumens from the example.
Factors such as temperature or lens are not taken into account.
Please note that we are talking about temperature in degrees Celsius, not Kelvin.
Taking into account the other factors, you may arrive at a different light output.

Light output of work lights in practice.

The light output is then not 6000 lumens but 4600.
And measuring this must be done accurately.
This is because immediately after the lamp is turned on, the number of lumens is higher than after some time.
We measure the operational yield two hours after the lamp is turned on.
Our lamps have a yield that is on average 35 percent lower than the theoretical yield.
That may seem like a lot but it is good to know that the loss is generally as much as 50 percent.

Vehicle safety with work lights.

Hopefully it’s clear what the value of quality lighting is, why we believe in vehicle safety, and what to look for when buying a work light.
We carry lighting for every type of vehicle.
Did you know you can also filter by vehicle?
This way you can be sure that the lamp fits your situation.
