Hurkmans Transport, specialized in the transport of dry bulk goods and related logistics services, recently further expanded the functionality of their Efficio on-board computers from Rietveld with the eCMR Transfollow, the digital waybill.
With this, the company is taking an important step in fully digitizing and streamlining their administrative processes.
Years of collaboration with Rietveld
The partnership between Hurkmans Transport and Rietveld goes back to 2008.
Over the years, Hurkmans’ fleet has grown from 12 to 30 trucks.
The company offers a wide range of services, including:
- Hurkmans Transport: bulk transport of dry powdered building materials such as cement, fillers and binders.
- Silomix BV: Logistics services such as blending, storage and transshipment of bulk products, big bags and pallets.
- Betonal: (sale of cement, cement silos and other building materials) and
- Conovation (supply of (attestation) fillers and advice in cement reduction).
Introduction of eCMR in 2024
As of 2024, Hurkmans has implemented eCMR Transfollow into their business processes, making them almost completely paperless.
The Transfollow solution is fully integrated with Rietveld’s Efficio on-board computers and Hurkmans’ TMS system.
This was made possible thanks to good cooperation between all parties involved.
The process is now as follows: orders are created in the TMS and automatically sent to the driver’s on-board computer, including exact loading and unloading locations and references.
The driver only needs to add the load weight and a photo of the weighing slip (taken with the on-board computer) and digitally sign off the bill of lading.
Customers automatically receive an e-mail immediately afterwards with a copy of the digital bill of lading and the photo of the weigh slip.

Implementation and training
To enable the implementation of eCMR, Rietveld and Beurtvaartadres worked closely together to achieve the necessary data synchronization between the applications.
The system is fully integrated with the on-board computer and completely legal anno 2024.
After a test phase with some critical drivers, a manual was created to guide drivers step by step.
Maarten: “Additional relevant input from drivers we still incorporated. Only one driver had to get used to the new system.”
Digitalization as a spearhead
Hurkmans Transport uses all of Rietveld’s modules.
Maarten van Oosterhout emphasizes the importance of digitalization: “Digitalization is the future. We are a progressive company and want to invest time in it.”
The company also uses Rietveld’s EasyDrive to encourage a sustainable driving style among their drivers.
This provides several benefits, such as reduced CO2 emissions, lower fuel consumption, fewer damages, less wear and tear on tires and fewer fines.
Based on the data from EasyDrive, drivers are coached by Harrewijn Coaching, which also contributes to more peace of mind for the drivers.
In addition, they work with EasyTacho, Rietveld’s tachograph management and reversing cameras for good visibility.
Some cars that were not already equipped with standard air conditioning were fitted by the Daf dealer with a stand air conditioning from Rietveld.
