Heijmans, Dura Vermeer and Millenaar & Van Schaik Transport called on the infrastructure sector to pitch their innovative ideas to prevent collision hazards on construction sites.
The goal is to find new solutions to prevent collision hazards and create a safer, construction Netherlands.
From 33 ideas, 8 candidates were selected who were given the opportunity to pitch safety solutions on March 27, including Rietveld.
We are proud to announce that our colleague Dietger Engel, won the pitch.
Rietveld’s combination solution
Rietveld’s combination solution consists of EasyView and EasyDetect. These delineate a work area with redlines lighting around the vehicle and a 360° 3D camera system with radar detection and AI camera that warns the driver of obstacles and people in time.
When they come within predetermined distance of the vehicle, the system intervenes and can be set to automatically brake the vehicle.
Construction site collision hazard innovation afternoon initiative
Heijmans, Dura Vermeer and Millenaar & Van Schaik Transport have launched an initiative to collect innovative ideas to prevent collision hazards on construction sites.
The goal is to find new solutions to create a safer construction process in the Netherlands.
Ideas can range from advanced sensor technologies to AI-controlled systems and groundbreaking software.
Collision hazards between employees and large moving equipment are one of the top five risks in the infrastructure sector.
In 2019, policies were established to reduce this risk, focusing on separating people and equipment, preventing reversing, ensuring adequate lighting and wearing visibility clothing.
