The Mobility Package of July 8, 2020 includes a number of measures to make European member states deal more equally with rules for international road and bus transport.
This is to improve competitiveness and road safety.
For example, since Feb. 2* it has been mandatory for drivers to enter the new country code in the tachograph when crossing a country border within Europe.
From Feb. 20: Mandatory cooling off period cabotage*
Starting Feb. 20, there will be the mandatory Cooling off period cabotage, which means that after 3 cabotage trips in a row in an EU country and after crossing the border, a driver is not allowed to perform cabotage trips in that country for 4 days.
As of May 21: Permit professional freight transportation*.
As of May 21, hauliers in Europe will need a professional haulage permit for vehicles with a total weight over 2,500 kilograms.
